Doon ends season with loss to Bright

CRUNCH: Josh Evans is well covered by Bright opponents.

BONNIE Doon went into Sunday’s semi-final against Bright with hopes, having beaten Bright in their one and only meeting this year.

They were dealt a blow before the game, however, with tough forward midfielder Wayne Lockhart ruled out for the rest of the year with a torn quad muscle.

Bright won the toss and kicked with a two to three goal breeze.

Bright got the early jump with a goal in the first few minutes, but from there on it was quite even for the next 15 minutes.

Bonnie Doon had a few shots on goal but was astray and this was a sign for later on.

Bright put on a couple of late goals and led at quarter time 5.1 to Bonnie Doon 3 points.
