Family of musicians heading into their third century

Liam Bradley is a performer, composer and educator, whose influence stretches a long way in Australia

LIAM Bradley is just one small step in a long line of musicians in the family.

His parents were regulars in a classical band between the wars, his uncle was a leader of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and his father was musical director of the 3XY orchestra.

The family musical tradition goes back even further.

Two hundred years ago at the Battle of Waterloo, Liam had relatives as corps bandmasters on both the English and French sides.

Was there ever any doubt that Liam himself would be a musician?

Liam was born in 1943 when his parents lived in Windsor in Melbourne.
