Wedding fair hailed a huge success

A small committee of local business women formed the wedding fair group to bring to Mansfield its biggest ever showcase of all things wedding last weekend – including (from left) Megan Knapp, Lisa Dennis, Kim Peterson, Rebecca Vincent and Jesse MacDonald.

MANSFIELD’S inaugural High Country Wedding Fair was hailed a huge success by organisers with more than 300 people through their ‘gate’.

Held in specially built marquees in Highett Street, the fair was a showcase of all things wedding to inform prospective brides and grooms on what they can do for their big day.

From marquee hire to horses, to five star venues and everything else connected with weddings – be they rustic and outdoors or the more formal settings, vendors had their best on display.

Committee member Jess MacDonald said on Monday it was a great day with 314 people purchasing tickets to view the huge variety of stalls and to talk to locals who can help.

“People came from Melbourne and Alexandra for the fair – many out of towners – to see what the High Country has to offer,” Ms MacDonald said.

The fair was the start of what organisers hope will be an annual event and which will only grow in size with the aim of attracting more brides and grooms to consider the High Country for their important day.
