MANSFIELD Mt Buller Cycling Club’s (MMBC) BMX racer Hayden Fletcher returned home two weeks ago after another successful three month tour of training and racing in the USA.
A new rule for 2015 required Hayden to race in the A pro-class in America.
Hayden raced at eight of the USA national series rounds, a total of 18 races which saw the 16 year old make the main event 10 times for five podium finishes, a fantastic result considering Hayden was the youngest competitor in the class.
The normal age for United States riders to turn pro is 19.
His focus now turns to the Victorian race scene starting this weekend at Geelong, and training for the upcoming Victorian Championships at Shepparton in November.
2016 is shaping up to be another huge year for the Howqua Inlet racer, starting with the five round Australian national series, where Hayden is hoping to qualify for the 2016 world championship in Columbia, then to Argentina for his first world cup race, then back to the USA for another three month summer tour.
