ONE of the highlights of any Rotary year is the visit of the District Governor to a club.
This year, District 9790 Governor Richard Luke has to visit some 63 clubs with approximately 1800 members in an area that stretches from Jerilderie and Deniliquin in the north to Sunbury and Kinglake in the south.
Last week it was Mansfield’s turn to welcome the governor.
After meeting with the club’s board, he enjoyed dinner with the members and then addressed them.
DG Luke outlined that he grew up in Dixon’s Creek when it was a dead-end, not a drive through.
“I could walk the six kilometres from the then Yarra Glen station to home and not a car would pass,” he recollected.
