HIGH Country Family and Friends Relay For Life team held a fundraising dinner at the Mansfield Coffee Merchant last Thursday night, with an Italian feast on offer.
Around 50 people enjoyed a wonderful evening of superb food and wine, conversation, games, and a very entertaining auction.
Organiser Bri Seaton was delighted with the response to the night and the generosity of those who attended, with an amazing total of $9500 raised for the Mansfield Relay For Life event this weekend.
Auctioneer Jamie Beckingsale, with help from Craig Wilson, elicited some fast and furious bidding on some terrific auction items, while the entire Wilson/McLaughlan clan cleaned up in the game of quoits, where landing a quoit over a wine bottle secured you that bottle as a prize.
Four bottles and a six-pack of beer later, there wasn’t much left for anyone else.
The generosity of the evening also extended to Mat Picone and his team from the Mansfield Coffee Merchant, with the wait staff donating their time for the entire evening, a gesture much appreciated by everyone.
