Delatite B grade lower colours to Corowa at Lords

HOME ground advantage proved to be no advantage at all as Corowa spoiled the party for Delatite which was hosting its first ever Wangaratta and District Cricket Association match at the Lords Reserve in Mansfield.

Sent in to bat by the visitors, Delatite took up where it left off from its batting efforts the previous week – very badly.

Only captain James Bartlett with 10 provided any sort of resolve among the top order.

Teetering on 8/47, two of the younger brigade decided to teach the rest of the team how to do it.

Sam Thomson and Allister Bennett never offered a chance in their mini batting clinic.

They put together a terrific partnership of 52 for the ninth wicket and had the opposition scratching their heads as to how they could counter the enterprising pair.
