MANY blokes are described as a ‘man of the land’, but in Jamie Beckingsale’s case the epithet is certainly true.
Whether it be the west of the state, Gippsland or the High Country, Jamie has had his hands full of sheep and cattle.
He was born in central Victoria in 1960, where his parents ran a farm.
“I grew up in that area but they sold the farm when I was 10,” Jamie outlined.
“I started at the Drysdale Primary School and then Port Arlington after we moved.
“At high school at Geelong College, I really only worried about footy and cricket.”
