A CELEBRATION of long service for Margaret Adcock to the local branch of Red Cross was held at the Mansfield Golf Club last Friday.

Mrs Adcock has served in an executive position with Mansfield Red Cross for more than 39 years.

Almost 60 representatives from many emergency and other organisations attended the luncheon at which Mansfield Shire councillor Ray Robinson outlined Mrs Adcock’s role over those many years.

Cr Robinson said Red Cross could not achieve what it does without the contribution of volunteers such as Mrs Adcock.

“But today we are celebrating only one of those contributors – an extraordinary person in Red Cross and we give thanks for her commitment,” he said.

“And it is wonderful because of people such as this lady why Mansfield is also so good.”
