SOCIAL influencer Lauren Bath was in and around Mansfield for a whirlwind four days last week, taking creative shots of much loved places, views and experiences and posting them online to her 450,000 ‘followers’ – much to the joy of tens of thousands of ‘likers’.
If that all sounds like ‘double Dutch’ to you, then you might just be in the minority and not one of the mega millions of Instagrammers worldwide.
Mansfield Shire mayor Paul Sladdin admitted he spends time in the social media space and understands its importance in the inspiration and research phase of the visitors’ purchase cycle.
“Hosting a ‘social influencer’ is a first for council’s visiting journalist program, but social media is such a significant component of the media mix that it is well worth investigating its merit in helping us promote our destination in a cost effective way,” he said.
Ms Bath said: “Having never heard of Mansfield before this trip, I’ve been blown away by the sheer number of experiences, history and hospitality of the locals.
“I’ve found myself dreaming of Mansfield and I’m already putting together my wish list for my next visit.
