AUSTRALIAN cattle prices are the strongest they have been in more than 30 years – that’s the opinion not only of Meat and Livestock Australia, but also of Mansfield’s best stock and station agents.
Figures released this month confirm that in real terms, cattle prices throughout the year were up by an average of 50 per cent.
Daniel Craddock, stock and station agent at Corcoran and Parker, said the prices for 2015 had been impressive.
“Without a doubt this year has been the best year I can remember,” he said.
“Price wise we expect the prices to be about where they are now well into next year.”
Mr Craddock put the good prices down to a strong export market, a weak Australian dollar and a shortage of supply.
