IN November local skateboarder Hayley Wilson qualified first in Victoria in the state qualifying round of the Skate League Championships.
Wilson has now retained her place as Australia’s number one female street skateboarder after winning the national event in Melbourne last Saturday.
Riverslide Skate Park came alive as it was part of the Moomba festivities.
Hundreds of spectators reserved seats in the grandstand and around the park to see Australia’s best skateboarders compete for podium finishes in under 12s, under 16s, open male and open female.
Wilson had two neat and clean runs to qualify for the finals.
The top three competitors were all very strong and in the end the winner was to be decided on one last trick each by Wilson and Liv Lovelace from New South Wales.
