THE FUN BEGIN: Stilt walker Meiwah Williams was on hand at the Delatite Hotel last Friday night for the official opening of Spring Arts. She moved among the brightly dressed crowd as the festival was opened by Mim Zolan and the wine and food flowed.

Last Friday night was the turn of the artists, as the 2016 Spring Arts festival began.

The Delatite was packed for the opening, with the postcard exhibition and the paintings of Ken Martin on display.

Opening the event, Mim Zolan praised the artists who live in the area and the town itself for its support of the arts.

The postcards will be sold by silent auction until October 31, when the winning bids for each of the 72 postcards will be announced.

Following the gathering, groups moved from the Delatite Hotel to the various cafes and restaurants where the rest of the works are on display.

Lovers of art can see and buy works by Debra Staun and the Yooralla artists at the Mansfield Art Gallery, Julie Guppy at the Mansfield Hotel, and Wendy Jagger and Nicola Beautyman at the Produce Store.
