GLORIOUS sunny weather greeted competitors at the first shoot of 2017 for the Woods Point Gun Club.

On Saturday a number of first time shooters took part in a ‘Come and Try Day’ where they were coached on firearm safety, gun handling and how to shoot clay targets.

A successful day that also revealed a couple of quite good first time shooters.

As the Sunday sun started to show its strength the club’s 2017 annual general meeting was held and dispatched in quick time, then it was on to the competitions.

Laurie Poile, Don Rhodes and Steve Russell shared A Grade 29/30 while Marty McLaughlin took the B Grade cash on his own, 29/30 as well.
