WITH footy seasons starting up around Australia, the junior coaches from the Mansfield Eagles club are keen to kick off their year on Sunday, April 18.

Under 16’s coach, Billy Mahoney, said the boys have “had a good pre-season so far”.

With 20 boys lined up to play in the U16’s team, and a few extras over school holidays, they are looking good for their first match against the Wangaratta Imperials on April 18.

“While everyone tends to focus on the opposition, this season we really want to focus on our own game styles,” Mahoney said.

“I think the kids have been playing to their own style, so that we can adapt to the opposition rather than focusing on them.”

Meanwhile, under 14’s coach Gavin George has said that his team is also looking solid going into the season.
