ALL good things must come to an end, as Mansfield’s reserves discovered on the weekend when Seymour got over the line to kill the Eagles’ unbeaten flight.
On a blustery day away from home goals were hard to come by which resulted in a tight encounter, the margin never blowing out in either side’s favour.
The Eagles started on the back foot, conceding two goals in the first few minutes as the Lions flew out of the blocks, hunting in packs.
This seemed to jump-start Mansfield, with Guy Murray and Tom Gardiner imposing themselves on the contest and forcing the ball forward, leading to a goal to Jaimie Carns.
Spurred on by the goal and running with the help of the breeze, the Eagles hammered home the advantage and goals to Tom Gibbs and Justin Bartlett sent the visitors into the first break with a four point lead.
