THE Mansfield community is determined to finance a new multi-purpose two court stadium with the college and basketball association looking at options to help get the project off the ground.
Last week, Mansfield Secondary College (MSC) acting principal, Janessa Burkhardt, confirmed that stage two renovations at the school included money for a single indoor basketball court – but that the facility would not be suitable for competition.
“We will definitely be building one court,” she said.
“Unfortunately, the money does not allow for it to be competition standard – we would love to find a way to fund the project to be an asset not just to the school, but to the whole community.”
MSC would like to build, in partnership with the Mansfield Shire, a multi-purpose two court indoor facility, complete with changing rooms, a kiosk, public gym and toilets.
