WITH the AFL grand final wrapping up the football season, the local community have been able to reflect on their own season – both Mansfield Eagles and Bonnie Doon – and some of the best moments of 2018’s season.
With the U16 Eagles recently winning their grand final and coming out on top as premiers, the Junior Football Club president Bo Christopher has spoken out.
“The boys started the season off with low numbers,” said Bo.
“To Billy Mahoney’s (coach) credit, the team galvanised.”
Bo also commented on the way the boys played as a team, saying that they managed to combine their two age groups (15 year olds and 16 year olds) into one.
They managed to win by two points against the Myrtleford Saints, who defeated them in round two of the season.
