MANSFIELD is the most expensive town in Victoria to buy fuel.
The news, which was confirmed by the Herald Sun’s analysis of price data, came as no surprise to residents.
For years, complaints have circulated about the exorbitant prices charged in town – sometimes up to 30 cents a litre dearer than elsewhere in the state.
Last Thursday, unleaded fuel in Mansfield was 144.9 cents per litre, with diesel sitting at 145.9.
Just 20 kilometres away, a service station in Bonnie Doon was charging 134.9 and 144.9 respectively.
