Council to put trivial complainers in their place

AT a recent meeting, Mansfield Shire Council passed a new ‘unreasonable complaints’ policy, where complaining residents can now be restricted if they are persistent or deemed unreasonable.

Complaints that council see as trivial or insignificant, contain inappropriate or abusive content, or relate to an issue that’s already been dealt with may lead council to restrict what the person can actually raise to council.

The policy also enables council to limit how, when and how long a person can contact them.
