IT has been five months since the Mansfield Shire Council decided it would sell off the former site of the Mansfield Saleyards.
Five months since the SES were told to start looking for a new home, and five months since community outrage over the decision blossomed.
In that same time, the State Government has purchased land for two new volunteer bases – at Cobram and Armstrong Creek – as well as giving millions to the Moe CFA to upgrade facilities.
In total, more than $43 million was allocated in the state budget for upgrading and building new CFA, SES and Life Saving Victoria facilities.
None of it, however, has found its way to the Mansfield Shire.
