Man hunt sparks mystery

NOT every day is it that you venture into the bush in search of missing persons – and recently, that is how Mansfield man Lachlan Culican has spent some of his time.

He saddled up, and alongside several others, assisted members of local police, Air Wing, Dog Squad, Search and Rescue Squad, SES, Parks Victoria and Mountain Cattlemen on a search for missing pair Russell Hill and Carol Clay (full story in last week’s Mansfield Courier).

It is believed that Mr Hill (70) and Ms Clay (73) were camping at Wonnangatta River near the Wonnangatta camping ground.

Campers found Mr Hill’s vehicle with signs of minor fire damage at their campsite near Dry Creek Track in the valley on March 21.
