Kmart coming to Mansfield

KMART IS COMING: The Mansfield Target store, which opened in 2014 to great fanfare (pictured) will be re-branded to a Kmart store early next year.

A KMART store will open in Mansfield early next year following the announcement that 167 Target stores will either close or re-brand.Around half of Australia’s 284 stores are expected to be impacted by the changes, which the company’s parent business, Wesfarmers, announced late last month.

Wesfarmers managing director, Rob Scott, said the changes would “enhance the overall position of the Kmart Group, while also improving the commercial viability of Target”.

“For some time now, the retail sector has seen significant structural change and disruption, and we expect this trend to continue.
