COUNCILLOR Mark Holcombe (pictured above) was last night elected unopposed as mayor of Mansfield Shire Council for the next 12 months.
His nomination by Cr James Tehan, seconded by Cr Stephen Rabie, had the full support of fellow councillors Rohan Webb and Paul Sladdin.
Cr Tehan was also elected deputy mayor unopposed.
Councillors were also appointed to various committees during last night’s statutory council meeting.
The newly elected council – of which Cr Sladdin is the only member of the former council – will now set about the task of governing for the next four years.
