HAVING now received more than 2000 requests from metropolitan Melbourne residents to travel to the Mansfield Shire to undertake property maintenance, as at October 28, council has issued 553 approvals and the number is growing by the hour.
Mansfield Shire chief executive officer Kaylene Conrick said council has diverted several staff from their regular roles to sort, prioritise and process the applications based on the intended travel date.
“Those that are wanting to come here up till November 8 for fire and flood preparation works will need the letter of support and we are processing the applications in the order of their planned travel departure date,” she said.
