Ride the rail trail for fun and fitness

RETURNING on Sunday, March 13 is 'Tour de Trail', a family friendly bike ride along the Great Victorian Rail Trail.

Organised by the Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail (GVRT), the morning's ride is expected to attract cyclists of all ages and family groups to participate in this supported event.

The ride starts and finishes at the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre with the choice of two destinations; to Maindample and return (28km), or to Bonnie Doon and return (44km), which includes riding across the iconic Lake Eildon rail trail bridge.

At each of the turnaround locations there will be a coffee van to provide refreshments with tea/coffee or cold drinks included in the cost of the ride.

There will also be water refill stations for riders to refresh their own water bottles.

On your return to Mansfield there will be a sausage sizzle provided by A Third Hand.

On–site activities at the Station Precinct will include live music, a coffee van along with an ice cream vendor and cycling services suppliers.

Established to encourage cyclists of all ages to ride the rail trail to contribute to our community's health and wellbeing, funds raised will be used to support the activities of the rail trail Friends Group that relies on volunteers and is self–funded.
