WITH 6778 of 8176 ballots returned and 6573 eligible votes counted by a team of election scrutineers, the progressive count has now become a provisional result in the Mansfield Shire Council election.
For the following four year term Mansfield Shire Council will consist of James Tehan, Steve Rabie, Mandy Treasure, Bonnie Clark, and Tim Berenyi.
It took 19 rounds of counting from the computer before the nine candidates standing were whittled down to five, each having hit the quota of 1096 votes required for election to council.
Today at 3pm, election officials addressed several of the candidates at the Mansfield Shire election office, revealing the results of the count.
The council is set to include a mix of familiar and fresh faces with two returning councillors joined by three new councillors.
Two female councillors are set to attend the next council meeting after four years of an all male council.
An announcement will be held at Council Chambers, 3pm Friday November 7 with the five new councillors set to attend.
A formal ceremony will follow at Council Chambers, Tuesday November 12.
