MORE than 100 men and women (mostly women) attended the annual International Women's Day luncheon organised by WiNE (Women in North East) last Wednesday.
WiNE president Briana Seaton welcomed all to the luncheon saying she was thrilled to see so many attending and celebrating the day recognising women all over the world.
This year's theme of #EquityEquality was outlined, with Ms Seaton stating it was not just standing up for women, but giving everyone equality opportunity and being recognised for it.
Major sponsor for the day was Bendigo Bank Mansfield Community Bank with board director Hayley Tudor–Harrop outline the bank's role in the community and announcing the bank is now a drop off point for the Pinchapoo program.
Pinchapoo is a project works alongside more than 50 leading organisation nationally providing total feminine hygiene solutions for homeless shelters, soup vans, domestic abuse refuges, community shower programs, refugee support centres, short term housing, crisis accommodation, hospitals, schools, jails and emergency relief for bush fire and flood victims.

Ms Seaton also introduced local artist Wendy Jagger who together they launched an online charity auction with the prize being a painting by Ms Jagger.
Proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Deakin Allen & Marjory Coombs Foundation.
Following guest speaker Judy Ryan's talk, vice president Rebecca Smyth introduced the discussion panel made up of Annette Rose, financial counsellor, Fiona Greenway, president of the Mansfield CWA, Ruby Dobson, mountain biking champion and Judy Ryan, returning the podium for the discussion and question time.
Ms Seaton invited women who wanted to build their connections, interact with other women in our region to consider joining WiNE – inclusive and open to women of all backgrounds.
